Workplace visits and seminars

Workplace visits and employer seminars are an essential component of the Career Academy programme. 

By opening their doors to Career Academy students, employers gave invaluable insight into the way business works. For many of our students, it is the first time they will enter a workplace and can be an eye-opening experience. 

Workplace visits are arranged by individual Career Academies in partnership with local employers. They usually consist of a tour of the workplace followed by a seminar discussing employability skills, organisational structure and career paths. Topics covered by employers in the past have included CV writing, dressing for success, world trade and economics and corporate social responsibility.

The experience of being welcomed into unfamiliar corporate environments is a massive confidence builder for young people, not to be underestimated. That's why we kick off the Career Academy programme in style, inviting all first year Career Academy students - from across the UK - to come together in London for A Capital Experience.
